Here I talk about protein and why I don't believe we need as much as we're led to believe by popular opinion.

    Hey Michael,

Do you still eat romaine?  I know at one point you said you were eating up to 4 heads a day?

    Just curious.

Btw, awesome string of performances lately.  You are amazing!

Nope, I actually eat a lot lot less greens for the last 18 months or more.
I used to think ‘I had to eat them’ to be healthy, now I don’t crave them nor feel the need to ‘must eat them’
Yet I still usually eat a good size salad with greens 4-5 times a week for dinner.

Do you take any supplements or do any weight training? I don't understand how you achieved your physique with running and eating all fruits/vegetables. Not saying I don't believe you, I do. Just wondering about any weight training or possible supplements.

    Michael,

Your arguments does not hold up to scientific scrutiny.  Just because the most people think of animal foods and nuts and seeds as protein foods, it does not make them so.
If you do the research you will find that all animal foods, (meat, eggs, diary); as well as nuts, seeds, and avocados are primarily fatty foods as the largest percent of macro-nutrients come from fats, not proteins.  Greens on the other hand are primarily carbohydrate, though they as well as all foods have some protein in them .

While the China study seems to suggest that we only need 10% pr less of our caloric intake from protein, how much fat we need is still hotly debated.

Four heads of lettuce a day!!?  Wow!  I can't eat even ONE whole head of lettuce!  Maybe I could if I went fruitarian though, because in that case, vegetables would serve as the alternative taste food to prevent becoming bored with sweet food.

  8. Michael says:

No supplements and no weight training.
    Only push ups.

The  World Heath Organization advises 0,5 gr. protein a day for each kilo body weight, with a maximum of 35 gr. protein to be healthy.
Professor Russel H. Chittenden of the Yale University reduced the amount of proteins a day for athletes to less than 25gr. a day. However they kept gaining weight and become stronger and they did much better performances that the meat eating athletes with no restriction on protein intake.
I do weight training. I only consumed  fruits the last month (no vegetables, no nuts and seeds). I eat between 20gr and 30gr proteins a day.
    Yesterday, I consumed 24, 5 gr. proteins: 2,5 kg grapes (0,6gr proteins\100gr), 8 small bananas (1,2 gr proteins\100gr)  and 500 cl fresh orange juice (0,7gr proteins\100gr).
I keep gaining muscles (chest, abdominal, shoulders) and if I want I can exercise every day because my body recovers so fast.
