Hey, I just wanted to say *thank you* for doing what you're doing. I've been raw for several years, but only recently have been converting to fruitarianism. I was influenced by the book, "Fruitarianism: The Path to Paradise," by Ann Osborne, which I see you've read, too. The last step for me is giving up the attachment to avacadoes and to dried fruit such as dates. You're right- they don't make me feel good. I'm curious why you're eat vegetables. I'm not drawn to them. But maybe I just haven't given it a shot recently. Maybe I'll give zucchini or broccoli another chance, I don't know.

Hey Michael,
Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your dedication to the cause and US. I went fruitarian about a month ago just kind of naturally, but it scared me a bit, so I went onto youtube and that's when I stumbled upon you and your amazing videos. Finding your site has given me all the confidence I need to really embrace being a fruitarian runner. When I win the Olympics, you'll be the first I'll thank!! haha
(funny story...my coach gave me a sports nutrition book the other day, so I accepted it out of courtesy and picked it up. According to the book I was supposed to be consuming 100 grams of protein a day....for a 125lb person!....I burst out laughing and almost choked on my apple).
Anyhow...so nice to have people like you who living proof of this being false.
carry on and keep running hard!

Mike,
How is your recovery coming along? Hope everything is on the mend and your hamstring becomes good as new.
You know, sometimes stuff like this just happens even when we've tried to do everything "right".
Hope you're taking your own advice, "It's okay to crash and burn as long as you learn from your mistakes."
Take care! And, please keep us posted on your recovery.

Thanks. I came upon Dr Graham's book by chance two years ago, read it and was convinced. I'm now working on my diet change, and have 3-4 full fruit days a week, fruit breakfast 7 days a week, and the other days vegetarian food. It's very good to read about other's success, because I feel rather alone doing this (I'm in nothern Europe, and most people here have not even heard about it). I'm suffering from a severe form of psoriasis on my skin, but even without a full fruiterian diet, I have cut my medicine intake to half, which takes a lot of preassure off from my liver and kidneys (I have regular blood tests on them), and my friends say my skin looks better than ever. I'm also in for a big surgery on my discs, having a stiff-operation to three vertebraes. Old things can't be undone, unfortunately, but hopefully I can mend faster, and avoid future problems now when I'm changing my diet. (I just wonder how to convince the hospital to only serve me fruit when I'm there, I guess I have to go for the vegan-food there). I'm 49 (never too late to change, huh), I'm a full time musician, I play bass in a semi-famous band (very far from drugs and alcohol, lol), but another good thing about the diet is that I stay on a high energy level for the gigs, and that I've started to notice that I can take long journeys and time changes better than the others. So in all I'm very grateful for finding this. Keep writing, let people know they can do this too! My goal is to be a 7 days fruiterian this before christmas.

Another nice race report!
Does taking 50 - 55 salt pills affect your blood pressure?
Would drinking celery juice instead of water eliminated the need for an electrolyte supplement?

Hi Michael,
what you do is very inspiring!! Could you post a typical running week from your marathon preparation? And could you describe how you changed your eating habits and sustain your training/mileage? I'm really curious but also a little anxious about changing my diet since I'm a cooking vegetarian mostly.

Keep it up!
Chris
(Goal 2:48 marathoner with roughly 90 miles avg. a week)

This is a great point, Mike. I just started running last summer and have been eating a predominantly fruit diet since the beginning of the year. I have noticed a big difference in how much less water I've been drinking this summer compared to last. I still carry water with me on my runs, but during the day I rarely feel like I need to fill glass after glass. I'm getting it instead from (on average) 15 oranges, 20-25 bananas and a quart-size bag of strawberries everyday. A fresh frozen fruit soothie is so much more refreshing than a plain glass of water anyway!
